Dog friendly pubs and restaurants

So St Davids is a dog loving place for definite. Almost all places are pleased to see our furry friends. But here’s a list of establishments that pride themselves on their canine compatibility.

Grain – Grain not only make the best pizzas in Wales but they love a leashed pooch in their gaff. Lots of places to sit outside if your dog would prefer the fresh air. And you’ll usually find a dog bowl for your thirsty pet.

The Bishops – One of our favourite pubs in St Davids, amazing pub grub and a really nice ambience. But also very dog friendly and also has a beer garden for rover to explore.

The Farmer’s Arms – This is the bet pub for beers and cider in St Davids (in our humble opinion!) But it also loves welcoming dogs and there is a large area outside where your dog can sit and watch you enjoy a cold, crispy pint.

A walking tour of St Davids

A lovely cafe / art gallery in St Davids city centre

Perhaps Pembrokeshire is most famous for its stunning coastline and amazing walks, beaches and surfing. Indeed, they are so beautiful all year round and absolutely worth exploring during your holiday or short stay in our self-catering holiday cottage in St Davids.

But if you get a wet and wild day that happens quite a lot on a peninsula like St Davids, then you can always look around the charming city centre of St Davids.

It always makes us chuckle describing it as a city centre because it’s far more like a friendly village than a bustling metropolis. It’s a wonderful community where everyone knows everyone and you’ll always be greeted by a friendly smile.

You’ll find all manner of quaint art galleries and lovely tea rooms and coffee shops during your holiday, as well as some really wonderful eateries and places to buy buckets and spades and mementos of your holiday in St Davids.

So don’t forget to look around during your family holiday or romantic short break or long weekend.

Beaches in Pembrokeshire

One of the reasons people flock to St Davids, Pembrokeshire for family holidays, walking holidays, romantic getaways… is because of the quality of the beaches.

The Welsh government are incredible at protecting these beaches and making sure they are always clean and tidy so you can enjoy the sun, sea and surf and the gorgeous blue green waves.

This may not be to the liking of pooch lovers but many of the beaches in St Davids, Pembrokeshire prevent dogs from being on them in the summer months. That doesn’t necessarily apply to all beaches so do check, but it’s a way to make your family holiday a little safer.

Summer is such a special time in Pembrokeshire, St Davids. People from all over the world descend on the smallest city in Britain – St Davids – for its beautiful scenery, imposing cathedral and, of course, its amazing beaches.

A friend of ours was recently in Cornwall and spoke about the overcrowded nature of the beaches and the roads. In Pembrokeshire there’s none of that. Yes, things get a little more buzzy than they might in January. But there’s never traffic jams or long queues and the beaches are always accommodating. You can always find a quiet, private spot for you and your family.

It’s really a very special time in St Davids when the sun is out. You’ll have a truly amazing holiday with memories to cherish forever. Whether it’s a family holiday or a romantic long weekend, our self-catering holiday cottage has got you covered!
